The Gujarat Panchayat Service Selection Board has officially launched a large-scale recruitment initiative to fill several hundred vacancies within the state’s healthcare and rural development infrastructure. These new notifications target a wide range of technical and field positions, including Laboratory Technicians, Female Health Workers, and Multi-Purpose Health Workers. By expanding the workforce in these critical sectors, the state government aims to bolster the delivery of medical services at the grassroots level and ensure more efficient health monitoring across all districts.

A significant portion of the recruitment focuses on technical roles, with the board inviting applications for over one hundred Laboratory Technician positions. Eligible candidates, typically those holding bachelor’s degrees in fields such as Microbiology, Chemistry, or Biotechnology alongside specialized diplomas, have until May 8, 2026, to complete their online submissions. These appointments are distributed across various districts, ensuring that diagnostic capabilities are enhanced in both urban centers and more remote rural areas.

In addition to laboratory roles, the board has issued fresh advertisements for Female Health Workers and Multi-Purpose Health Workers as part of its 2026-27 recruitment cycle. These frontline positions are essential for the implementation of maternal and child health programs, immunization drives, and disease surveillance at the village level. The recruitment process for these roles follows a standardized examination pattern designed to evaluate both general knowledge and subject-specific expertise, ensuring that the most qualified professionals are integrated into the panchayat service.

The current hiring wave also extends to the broader rural development sector, featuring hundreds of vacancies for Gram Sevaks and Livestock Inspectors. Gram Sevaks play a vital role in coordinating village-level welfare schemes, while Livestock Inspectors provide essential veterinary and husbandry services to the state’s agricultural community. The application window for these specific roles is currently active and is scheduled to close on May 7, 2026, providing a narrow window for interested candidates to secure a stable career in the public sector.

For all these positions, the selection process remains transparent and merit-based, consisting of a competitive written examination followed by comprehensive document verification. The board has utilized the Online Job Application System portal to streamline the process, allowing candidates to register, upload necessary documents, and pay application fees through a secure digital interface. Reserved category candidates continue to benefit from fee exemptions and age relaxations, maintaining the state's commitment to inclusive and diverse public employment.

Successful candidates in these Class-3 categories are generally appointed on a fixed-pay basis for the initial five years of service, after which they transition into the full pay scales governed by the 7th Pay Commission. This recruitment drive is a key component of Gujarat’s strategy to modernize its administrative machinery and address the growing demand for specialized public services. As the state continues to invest in its human capital, these new additions to the workforce are expected to significantly improve the quality and accessibility of government-led health and development initiatives.
